after custody.. what now?

We were given custody and the court advocate and the GAL and the judge said it was the worse case of parent alienation they had seen. The mother was ordered into therapy before contact, but she refused to go and continued to have her children call her. After one year, she has filed a motion for modification of parenting. She listed lie and lie in the motion accusing father and step mother of severe abuse. She has made several CPS reports which were all ruled out because of lack of neglect or abuse, yet she continues to contact the children and create hate and animosity. It is almost a daily battle of their unbelievably rude behavior and occasional episodes of out of control anger. We are so tempted to give them back and give up. It has cost us $20000 to live with this kind of hate?
What is the answer. We have all been in therapy for one year, and she refuses, but still uses the system to file motion after motion. When does it stop?

I'm interested in hearing what people have to say about your case. We just had a custody evaluator recommend that my stepson live with us, but she wants to carry it to trial. She told my 11-year old stepson on the phone tonight that she will have a
surprise for him if he doesn't tell her what she wants to know. We have to send him back for summer visitation tomorrow, and I am scared for him. I don't see any end in sight.

WOW, It sounds as if we are going through the exact same thing. I have no answers. I'm sorry, just know you are not alone. My step son is in the middle of the same thing. We don't know what to do for him. His mother called CPS for abuse and neglect, also. That case was closed immediately. They even apologized. We are scheduled to go to court later this month and are planning to bring up the Parental Alienation she is causing. My stepson doesn't even understand that the lies she tells him are not his own thoughts. He believes the stories she tells him. He thinks he always lived with her up until five years ago when he moved in with us. He doesn't realize that we went from a week to week basis until he reached kindergarten and lived with her for school purposes. But she failed to send him to school regularly and we filed for modification of custody at that time and since she was homeless she decided to go ahead and sign over residential to my husband. After she went through 3 lawyers and we went through nearly $20,000. The psychiatrist in our case file recommended my husband to be the residential parent and the Ex said that they were having an affair, and
that's how we got her to say he should be the residential parent. It didn't matter that the psychiatrist caught her having someone else trying to take her psychological evaluation for her. She was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Did you have a
psychological done on her? It might help your case. Good luck you! (Last changed: February 26, 2006)
