When Death occurs before Alienation is Resolved

A sad ending

One year ago this month, my sister died at age 30. She hadn't spoken to my dad in over 15 years. I am still miserable with regrets, as is he. I was already married (young), the oldest of 8 children, when my parents got their vicious divorce. Six of my siblings were completely alienated from my father. No accusations of abuse. Just, he "abandoned" Mom and the family. So did I, I guess. I won't go into the long ugly story. What you need to know, is please *don't* make the mistake of thinking, early on, "When they turn 18, they'll come back. I'm just complicating their life now anyway. They'll always remember the good memories and the love". Because they won't. I wish my dad and I had had the good advice given on this website, 15 years ago. Because he's a good man, a wonderful father and grandfather, and we all deserved better.    (Last changed: February 26, 2006)

How are you doing know? Are you saving your daughter? My husband is losing his children. The courts don't care. We are part of the Louisiana Coalition For Families and Children. We are trying to change the laws. Everyone must come together to make this known and make change. We have a web site maybe someone can help or at least provide support and unity.
